“Truly a “home away from home”!”

First off Michael and Shannon are delightful people, always friendly, pleasant, accommodating and charming. The hotel is pretty with lots of greenery and views over Managua.The common areas are clean, modern and with ample and comfortable seating on 3 sides. Our King size suite was what you would expect in a 5star hotel: huge, bright, clean as a whistle and had everything one might need (iron, hair dryer, hi-speed internet, easy chairs and a desk etc etc). The bed is super comfortable. The star of the show is the impressive breakfast (included!)! I counted 8 different kinds of healthy breakfasts from American (with hotcakes) to home made Granola the size of a serving bowl for 4 people. Their special Grumpy Beetle Pancakes is to die for – do not miss! 🙂 We’ll be back! Having tried to navigate Managua (with not one single street sign!) in our rental car, we strongly recommend you avail yourselves of their airport shuttle and spare yourself the blood pressure spike! “Great find!”

In November after spending a week at the beach near San Juan del Sur, my husband and I needed a hotel for one night before our flight the next day. We had read great reviews about El Mirador Suites online and wanted to give it a try and support former Calgarians. We were not disappointed at all. Food was fantastic and both Shannon and Michael went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Comfy beds and huge room with a king size bed. “Great Place to Stay”

This was our first time to Nicaragua. From being picked up at the airport onwards our time with Michael, Shannon and staff was exceptional truly making us feel at home. We very much appreciated the hotel, food, cleanliness, and friendly service. We received great advice on what to see and do during our time in the country. Superb rooms and great service!

The hotel is close to the main road that goes to Managua and to Masaya, Granada, etc. There is a med. size supermarket and pharmacy 5 blocks away. Attention to details in rooms and other areas of the hotel and especially great hospitality from the owners. Staff is friendly and helpful. “”An All-Round Amazing Experience””

From the moment we arrived at the El Mirador Suites and were graciously greeted by Shannon and her wonderful staff, we truly felt welcome and at home. We can’t stress enough how much of a gem this beautiful property is and how it served as our home away from home! We had the pleasure of spending our first two nights on the front end and two additional nights on the tail end with them, during our 9 day visit to Nicaragua (clearly not enough time to properly be immersed!). Both Michael and Shannon were more than accommadating in assisting with the planning portion of our itinerary. We expressed to them some of the places/things we wanted to visit/experience and they provided suggestions, direction, and sage advice, based on their own personal experience and exposure in the country. This proved to be an invaluable and critical piece to the planning of our adventure and we appreciate the time, effort, and energy they spent organizing it all for us! Michael and Sannon have the gift to making their guests welcome

Family circumstances have bought us to Managua for three months and El Mirador Suites and Lounge has become our home away from home. As we struggle with a different language in a different culture, we are grateful for the friendly and helpful staff who just seem to understand us and cater for all our needs with a smile. The manager, Roger, is also the chef and we can highly recommend his deliciously healthy meals, so important during a prolonged stay. The owners, Michael and Shannon have the gift to making their guests welcome, they help with planning a tour, renting a car, shopping, or whatever else may suddenly crop up. Nothing is too much trouble, and of course we enjoy their entertaining conversations about their life back in Canada and their experiences in Nicaragua. We are very fortunate to have discovered El Mirador with its magnificent decor, amazing art works, and simply beautiful furniture. A very pleasant home away from home indeed.

“Delighted with our stay” – Barbara

Our family of 6 stayed at this beautiful boutique motel for 2 nights (but 2 of us stayed 4 nights) with Michael n Shannon and their staff. We were delighted with our stay. Rarely can u say u were very satisfied with everything u experienced. At this motel we can. Everything from the minute we arrived was attended too expertly. Nothing was lacking. Michael n Shannon are the most delight n attentive hosts with friendly well trained staff all ready to attend to any needs required. Food great catering for western n local tastes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to everyone. We would happily return when in Managua.
