A little gem in Managua’s Santo Domingo neighborhood

A little gem in Managua’s Santo Domingo neighborhood… we like to use it as our base in Managua, either one our way in and out of Nica, or for a weekend on the town. Very tastefully appointed, clean, great breakfast (open to public) and the best hosts ever.

Awesome place to stay – Lise M

El Mirador is an awesome place to stay. This is the third time we have stayed. Always seem to get the same room too. Which by the way, is AWESOMENESS. Micheal and Shannon, as well as their staff are always helpful and friendly. Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Our home away from home in Managua!” – Sarah A

Wow, talk about feeling right at home at El Mirador Suites and Lodge- thanks to these fabulous hosts Shannon and Michael! We were blown away with their kindness when they offered to cook us dinner as they knew we had a late night arrival into Managua from the United States. We arrived with our cousin to find Michael standing outside to help us with our luggage and we were shown our family room with two doubles- it was absolutely perfect for us- white bedding, colorful accents, carafe holding water for us, great bathroom and with the A/C on. We then were taken to the dining area after relaxing in the patio area with wine where we met their darling kittens-where we had a fantastic feast of chicken, sausages, and pork along with quinoa salad, green salads, bread, and killer desserts. We were so appreciative of the food, especially on site, after a long day of travelling. We truly felt at home. My kids were already in love and wanting to relocate to Managua. The beds were superb and we never slept better! We appreciated the breakfast each morning, and it was so heavenly to have the nacatamales again after many,...

“This was the perfect landing in Managua.”

The hosts, Mike and Shannon, are warm, generous and very accommodating. They helped us with everything from drivers to diapers. They were very patient with our toddler and indulged her with baby kittens. The house is quite lovely, cool, fresh and quite comfortable. Our breakfasts were hearty and delicious. We couldn’t have found a more welcoming and comfortable place in Managua. #elmiradorsuitesandlounge #managua #nicaragua #review #testimonial

“More comforatble than home with healthy breakfast to start the day”

This converted house is extremely comfortable and a wonderful respite for travelers. I loved my experience here. There was a cool carafe of water waiting for me in my room. What a great touch! The coffee was Twin Engine, the best coffee in Nicaragua, which was another great surprise and kept me energized the whole time. Mattresses, Sheets, Towels – all were new and of super-high quality. I really felt like I was at a spa sometimes. I highly recommend El Mirador. #elmiradorsuitesandlounge #managua #nicaragua

“Just perfect at all points” – francebeaudointu2017

The hosts are very kind , trying  to help us find all the informations we need. They also guide us and find transport we need. The hotel is charming and so were our bedroom and bathroom. It is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast with fresh fruit and home made granola was delicious. We also enjoy the very good home made bread we bought.

“Amazing people who helped my daughter so much” – TravelerFarnhamUK

My daughter had an accident while travelling in Nicaragua – we booked her in to El Mirador because it was close to the hospital she needed to go to and because of the reviews. When she arrived she had heat exhaustion and a plaster caste on her whole arm – she was in panic mode. The staff were heroes- helping her make her hospital visits and finally get to the airport to come home to the UK. They have our utmost gratitude – thank you so much. But on top of this the place was lovely and so was the food. Apparently your home made ice cream is to die for!   #testimonial #review #elmiradorsitesandlounge

A little piece of Paradise in Managua

Extraordinary in every aspect. Truly this has been one of the best places we’ve stayed in Central America, comfortable, cozy, and an ample and delicious breakfast. The owners are super hospitable and make you feel right at home. We will definitely consider returning when in Managua. #testimonial #elmiradorsuitesandlounge #expedia

“A little piece of paradise in Managua”

We love this place! We found it “by chance” on the internet and it is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in during our years of travel to Central America. It is a small bed and breakfast type hotel, with ample, healthy and delicious breakfast included. The rooms are cozy and super comfortable with a modern bathroom. The owners are a lovely and very hospitable couple from Canada. They treated us as welcomed friends coming to their home for a visit. There are different common areas inside and outside for sharing, relaxing or reading, including an outside patio with an awesome view day or night. We will definitely consider this option when we return to Nicaragua. See all our Reviews on TripAdviser

Short stay with a lasting impression – Keda A

I had the pleasure of staying at El Mirador Suites and Lounge in early February for a few days before our flight back home. The rooms are nicely designed, clean and spacious with a/c, hot water and very comfortable beds. The favorite part of the hotel for me were the two patios on either side with one having a view of Lake Nicaragua. The hotel is very close to the mall and not too far from the airport. They offer great food whether you want to try authentic nacatamal or a North American breakfast or a fresh baked muffin. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and went above and beyond for us as Roger did giving me a cooking lesson on how to make his delicious ceviche recipe and trying to teach us a little bit of Spanish or Rosa making sure we had chocolate chip cookies and muffins to take on our very early flight home. Michael and Shannon were the perfect hosts and made sure all our needs were being met whether it was getting us a cab to take us to the market or waking up to take us to the airport to make an...

Paradise in the City – Kelly BH

I had the pleasure of staying at El Mirador Suites, February 10th and 11th, 2017. It was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! The owners are Canadian Expats from the west and they were kind and full of information on Nicaragua. Their staff was lovely as well. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a warm colonial ambiance. It was very clean and my suite was large with an abundance of storage. The bed was extremely comfortable with clean crisp linens. The bathroom was fully modern with a large shower and the water pressure was terrific. Soft fluffy towels topped of a great shower. (I meant to take photos but forgot). The meals are delicious and satisfying. Breakfast is included and as it was the weekend, I had the opportunity to try the weekend menu. I opted for a Nica dish called nacatamal. It was devine and I highly recommend it. I opted for dinner there the second night and it was delicious also. They have plans to expand the hotel and the outdoor areas and I’m looking forward to seeing it unfold as I’m certain I’ll be back! Thank you, Michael and Shannon for a great stay!
