“Amazing people who helped my daughter so much” – TravelerFarnhamUK

My daughter had an accident while travelling in Nicaragua – we booked her in to El Mirador because it was close to the hospital she needed to go to and because of the reviews. When she arrived she had heat exhaustion and a plaster caste on her whole arm – she was in panic mode. The staff were heroes- helping her make her hospital visits and finally get to the airport to come home to the UK. They have our utmost gratitude – thank you so much. But on top of this the place was lovely and so was the food. Apparently your home made ice cream is to die for!   #testimonial #review #elmiradorsitesandlounge

A little piece of Paradise in Managua

Extraordinary in every aspect. Truly this has been one of the best places we’ve stayed in Central America, comfortable, cozy, and an ample and delicious breakfast. The owners are super hospitable and make you feel right at home. We will definitely consider returning when in Managua. #testimonial #elmiradorsuitesandlounge #expedia

“A little piece of paradise in Managua”

We love this place! We found it “by chance” on the internet and it is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in during our years of travel to Central America. It is a small bed and breakfast type hotel, with ample, healthy and delicious breakfast included. The rooms are cozy and super comfortable with a modern bathroom. The owners are a lovely and very hospitable couple from Canada. They treated us as welcomed friends coming to their home for a visit. There are different common areas inside and outside for sharing, relaxing or reading, including an outside patio with an awesome view day or night. We will definitely consider this option when we return to Nicaragua. See all our Reviews on TripAdviser

We loved this hotel! The owners are so nice and accommodating. It was very nicely decorated and clean. The best part is the location. It is very close to the Galerias. I definitely recommend staying here!

Short stay with a lasting impression – Keda A

I had the pleasure of staying at El Mirador Suites and Lounge in early February for a few days before our flight back home. The rooms are nicely designed, clean and spacious with a/c, hot water and very comfortable beds. The favorite part of the hotel for me were the two patios on either side with one having a view of Lake Nicaragua. The hotel is very close to the mall and not too far from the airport. They offer great food whether you want to try authentic nacatamal or a North American breakfast or a fresh baked muffin. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and went above and beyond for us as Roger did giving me a cooking lesson on how to make his delicious ceviche recipe and trying to teach us a little bit of Spanish or Rosa making sure we had chocolate chip cookies and muffins to take on our very early flight home. Michael and Shannon were the perfect hosts and made sure all our needs were being met whether it was getting us a cab to take us to the market or waking up to take us to the airport to make an...

Paradise in the City – Kelly BH

I had the pleasure of staying at El Mirador Suites, February 10th and 11th, 2017. It was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! The owners are Canadian Expats from the west and they were kind and full of information on Nicaragua. Their staff was lovely as well. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a warm colonial ambiance. It was very clean and my suite was large with an abundance of storage. The bed was extremely comfortable with clean crisp linens. The bathroom was fully modern with a large shower and the water pressure was terrific. Soft fluffy towels topped of a great shower. (I meant to take photos but forgot). The meals are delicious and satisfying. Breakfast is included and as it was the weekend, I had the opportunity to try the weekend menu. I opted for a Nica dish called nacatamal. It was devine and I highly recommend it. I opted for dinner there the second night and it was delicious also. They have plans to expand the hotel and the outdoor areas and I’m looking forward to seeing it unfold as I’m certain I’ll be back! Thank you, Michael and Shannon for a great stay!

An Oasis B & B Gem in Managua, Nicaragua – Taylor H

Whether on vacation or having medical treatments at the World renown Hospital Metropolitano Vivian Pellas, you’ll find El Mirador Suites and Lounge a delightful respite after a long days’ journey. When having my yearly medical check-up at Hospital Metropolitano Vivian Pellas, I stay in Managua several days for both doctor’s appointments and shopping. The medical coordinator not only made all my appointments but also chose El Mirador as their hotel of choice for patients needing to see doctors but not having surgery. An added bonus of the connection between the hospital and hotel is not only an extra 20% off their very reasonable hotel rates but, the free shuttle service El Mirador provides to and from the hospital. The owners of El Mirador, Shannon and Michael are the perfect hosts. I felt warmly welcomed in their authentic Nicaraguan B & B. As a single traveler, I chose small hotels where the staff knows their clients and provides the utmost in service and security which I find lacking in large chain hotels. El Mirador Suites and Lounge is new, has spacious and clean rooms, and verandas to enjoy the evening’s breezes, lake view, and city lights. Their breakfast, whether traditional Nicaraguan...

Amazing Gem in Nicaragua…EL MIRADOR SUITES – Marty B

My wife and daughters and I just recently visited Nicaragua for the first time. We rented a place in Pochomil and we were fortunate enough to stay at Michael and Shannon’s place on the first and last night’s of our trip and we can’t say enough about the location, the hosts and staff (especially Roger). It made our transition from/to the airport easy and stress free. The food was great and Shannon and Michael have many experiences and recommendations regarding what to do during your stay in Nicaragua.

A great find for us EL MIRADOR SUITES – Gordon S

We have stayed there twice over the last two months. The hosts Shannon, Michael have truly developed a great location. Shannon, Michael, Roger and the other staff members, are super at meeting the needs of their guests. The food is great!!! Loved our room, well designed, and a very comfortable bed. Good location, only 3 blocks from a major road, and a shuttle ride to the airport. You will not be disappointed if you stay at El Mirador Suites.

“Best location in Managua” – Okaapi

We have a place at the beach and when we come into town for a dinner or a party we prefer to stay overnight. El Mirador is the best option! It’s super-well designed and decorated, clean and simple, and the view of Managua and the lake is breathtaking. Yummy breakfast (ask for specials). The owners are totally committed to their guest’s comfort and also fun (we have stories). Michael and Shannon are from Canada, and they also have options for beach houses and tours if desired. The hotel can also arrange transportation from/to airport very reasonably.

Slice of Heaven – Rossana V

We have been to Nicaragua many times to visit family but have never stayed at the beach so we wanted try something new. We wanted to bring the family with us so when we came across this beach house, it was accommodating for us all. Being Canadians, it was great to know it’s owned by fellow Canucks. Michael and Shannon were such wonderful help to us . From answering all of my questions to even bringing a barbecue for us to use. Now the house itself??? Absolutely beautiful. Well equipped with all you need to cook and immerse yourself in utter relaxation while enjoying the view and sounds of the waves. If you don’t want to cook, their wonderful caretaker , Marcelo, is more than happy to get something for you to order from the local restaurant. We felt like we were in paradise. I totally recommend this place for anyone looking for quiet, cleanliness, space for more than 4 and being right on the beach. A nice touch was the thick soft bath towels in all 3 bathrooms. We will definitely return!!

We needed a place to stay overnight that was comfortable and affordable. We found them here at the El Mirador. Michael and Shannon, our hosts and the owners of this wonderful establishment, we’re the nicest people. They took great care of us and we truly enjoyed our stay there. We reserved the deluxe king suite and boy what a treat that was. Nice and roomy, very large bathroom, satellite TV, hot shower, great company….what more could you ask for. I would recommend this place to everyone.

I could not have had a better stay! From the hotel, staff, and owners it was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend it! My favorite ‘niche’ part of stay was being able to rent the mountain bikes. The room was clean, spacious and newly remodeled with a nice mix of modern bathroom and furniture made of Nicaraguan’s finest woods. The hotel sits on a corner hill just over local community which made it for a very pleasant breeze whenever eating in their restaurant morning or evening. It was perfectly located just outside of Managua with quick access to carretera Masaya and travel to Granada and Leon. But the best was the support from staff whether it was finding ferry times for travel to Ometepe Islands or finding a local mechanic to fix a minor problem on my car. Very friendly, and full of local information for expats or from native perspective. Check them out!
